Why an “all Lectric models” code list can send you the wrong way
The XPremium v1.3 manual, page 50, gives E007 a battery-voltage meaning and E010 a motor-temperature meaning. In the three manuals listed below, E007 concerns the motor and E010 concerns messages received by the display. The same digits do not establish the same problem across the brand.
If the model or display has changed, tell Lectric before using a lookup table. Keep the exact display spelling in your notes: for example, photograph E010 rather than recording only “10.”
Find the matching document
Start with Lectric’s official manual directory. It separates models, including XP 3.0 brake versions, and supplies regional versions for some models. This table covers only these linked documents:
- XP4, U.S. English v1.3: error codes on page 64; maintenance precautions follow on page 65.
- XP 3.0 / Step-Thru 3.0 with hydraulic brakes, v1.5: page 58; precautions continue on page 59.
- XPress2 v1.1: error codes on page 61; maintenance precautions follow on page 62.
Check the current directory against your bike before acting. An unlisted model belongs with its own manual or Lectric support, rather than the nearest-looking row here.
Lookup table for the three checked manuals
These manuals require battery removal before inspection or maintenance and reserve component servicing for a bicycle repair shop. Follow the matching charging instructions; for a damaged battery or charger, use the battery-safety triage first.
| Code | Reported area | Next reference or handoff |
|---|---|---|
| E003 | Pedal-assist sensing | Pedal-assist connector instructions |
| E006 | Battery voltage too low | Normal charging instructions |
| E007 | Motor system | Motor connector instructions |
| E008 | Throttle input | Throttle connector instructions |
| E009 | Controller | Ask support about connections |
| E010 | Display message reception | Display connector instructions |
| E011 | Display message transmission | Display connector instructions |
| HOT / Hot | Temperature too high | Stop riding; cool the bike |
The controller row is a reason to ask for the appropriate procedure, not to open a component. Lectric’s older E007 and E008 help articles include controller-panel steps without naming every applicable model. Ask support to confirm the procedure for your bike if its manual does not explain that access.
Does E010 mean you need a new display?
The connection check listed for E010 does not establish which part needs replacing. Record a changed code after a check too, so support has the full sequence.
The cited code pages give no button-reset sequence. Ask Lectric for the next appropriate step for your model rather than trying a generic reset recipe.
Prepare one useful support request
Copy this record into your message to Lectric support:
- Bike: exact model, generation and brake version where relevant.
- Display: full code/photo; whether any display or electrical part was replaced.
- Instructions used: manual title, version and page.
- When it happens: startup, assist, throttle or another observed circumstance; recent rain, impact or equipment changes.
- Checks completed: only the steps actually performed, with the code before and afterward.
- Question: “Which owner check applies to this configuration, and which work needs your service partner?”
If no code appears, use the manual’s separate no-power or assist troubleshooting section and describe that symptom. For temperature planning between rides, see our battery use, charging and storage guide.
