Match the product before choosing an action
- Record the full bike model and model year from its label or purchase record.
- For a battery notice, compare the battery’s own model number, not only the bicycle brand or voltage. Use the agency’s label photographs.
- Match any serial range, sale date or component condition. If uncertain, stop using a product you suspect is affected and ask the named recall contact to confirm.
- Read the notice for your country, including update banners. An original remedy can become unavailable.
Recall and safety warning are different labels. The tables preserve the agency’s description. A warning is still a reason to follow its safety direction; it does not guarantee a repair or refund. Canadian notices can also be informational communications of a manufacturer action, as noted below.
To find a name or code quickly, use your browser’s Find function and search the exact model or battery number.
CPSC safety warnings
These five entries are warnings on the checked pages. FENGQS’s earlier warning is handled with its later recall rather than counted as another unresolved entry.
| Notice and product | What to match | Agency direction |
|---|---|---|
| Ridstar Q20 / Q20 Lite 2026-06-25 CPSC warning 26-584 | Match the model on the purchase receipt; Ridstar is printed on the battery. | Front wheel can detach. Stop using; CPSC directs disposal and says not to sell or give the bikes away. Q20 batteries also need the hazardous-waste procedure below. |
| Ridstar Q20 / Q20 Pro 2026-03-19 CPSC warning 26-337 | Q20 Pro is included in this fire warning; Q20 Lite is named in the separate crash warning above. | Batteries and wiring can ignite. Stop using; follow CPSC’s battery-removal and local hazardous-waste disposal instructions. Do not sell or give away the affected batteries. |
| Liberty Trike, 16-inch wheel / 20-inch wheel models 2026-01-15 CPSC warning 26-197 | All of the named wheel-size versions; Liberty Trike on the chain guard and Electric Bike Technologies on the stem tube. | Trikes can tip over in turns. | Rad Power Bikes batteries 2025-11-24 CPSC warning 26-118 | Battery label models RP-1304, RAD-S1304Y or HL-RP-S1304, printed on the back or rear. Check the battery, including replacements, rather than only the bike name. | CPSC warns of ignition/explosion and directs removal and local hazardous-waste disposal, with no sale or giveaway. Its page also includes Rad’s response; this is an agency warning, not a promise of a replacement or refund. |
| Unit Pack Power / UPP batteries 2024-04-15 CPSC warning 24-200 | Battery models U004 or U004-1; label/side markings include U004 BATTERY or UPPBATTERY. | Stop using. CPSC identifies fire/burn hazards and directs disposal through local procedures for damaged, defective or recalled lithium batteries, not ordinary battery drop boxes. |
Call the local household hazardous-waste service before taking an affected lithium battery there. The CPSC battery notices say not to put these batteries in trash, curbside recycling or ordinary used-battery collection boxes. Ask whether the facility accepts the specific defective or recalled battery and follow its directions. A refund registration may require photographs or disposal confirmation; read the sequence first.

FENGQS changed from warning to recall. The June 18, 2025 warning 25-349 now points owners to the July 24 recall and refund process. Match the recall’s battery-production label rather than treating the old warning and the later recall as two unrelated products.
Canadian product notices
A US notice is not proof of an identical Canadian remedy. Check the Canadian notice and its contact.
Health Canada says the Norco and Giant notices below are informational communications, not actions conducted under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act or Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. Babboe is listed as a consumer product recall.
| Notice | Affected product and issue | Canadian direction |
|---|---|---|
| MY25 Norco Sight VLT CX 2025-08-05 RA-77805 | C1/C2/C3 versions in sizes SZ2–SZ5 in the notice’s matrix; rear brake insert in the seatstay may loosen. | Stop using; arrange a free seatstay replacement with a Norco retailer. This is an informational manufacturer-action notice. |
| Momentum Vida E+ 2025-07-30 RA-77776 | Third serial character H/J/K: fork replacement; G: authorized dealer inspection. Fork steerer can crack or separate. | Stop using; contact an authorized Giant dealer for free inspection and fork replacement as necessary. This is an informational manufacturer-action notice. |
| Babboe cargo bicycles 2024-06-20 RA-75666 | The notice lists affected two- and three-wheeled models, electric and non-electric. Frames can crack. | The current Canadian page says the business has closed and the remedy is unavailable. It directs owners to discard the product and not donate or resell it; do not expect the older refund wording to establish an available remedy. |
Health Canada’s May 11, 2023 battery advisory, RA-73653, is general safety guidance, not a product recall. It warns against modifying or building lithium-ion batteries, recommends original manufacturer replacements and directs owners to their municipality for disposal instructions.
Keep an action record
This worksheet helps a dealer or recall contact identify the product without repeating the search. Keep your serial number and receipt private; send them through the contact method in the official notice.
Download a blank recall action record (CSV) to fill in locally, or use the fields below.
| Record | What to save |
|---|---|
| Product | Bike model/year; battery model if relevant; serial number; purchase record. |
| Notice | Country, agency number, official URL and date you checked it. |
| Eligibility | Which label, serial range or component condition matches; any unanswered question. |
| Next step | Named dealer or recall contact; case number; instructions received; repair or disposal confirmation. |
Keep documentation of a completed remedy. A familiar model name, a changed component colour or the absence of symptoms does not by itself document that this particular product completed the applicable recall process.
Scope and checking method
We rechecked the linked government notices on October 30, 2026. The selected US recall numbers were also cross-checked against CPSC’s recall data on October 30; current notice text and update banners take priority over older data fields. This page covers selected road-going e-bike and battery actions issued from 2023 through the check date. It excludes exercise bikes, scooters and general bicycle accessories. It does not cover every country, every action or older notices.
The official notice remains the place to check photographs, complete serial/model lists, remedies and subsequent updates. Monthly upkeep is planned; the check date records a source review, not an always-live monitoring feed. We have not tested these products or verified individual remedy claims with owners.
For related tasks, read our battery fire-safety guide, battery troubleshooting guide and used-bike selling guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is my e-bike safe if it is not listed?
This selected lookup cannot establish that. Search the official databases for your exact product, including older notices, and check the manufacturer’s current safety notices.
Did the FENGQS warning become a recall?
Yes. CPSC’s June 18, 2025 warning now links to the July 24, 2025 recall. Check that recall’s battery label and refund instructions.
Can I still claim the original Babboe refund?
Do not assume the original offer is available. CPSC now flags bankruptcy, and Health Canada says the remedy is no longer available. Read the current notice for your country.
