Which configuration does this record describe?

The U.S. product page shows SKU 91023-8000U, One Size and Satin Obsidian. The Canadian page identifies a different SKU, 91025-8400, and labels it 2025. Keeping the regional records separate prevents a Canadian motor claim or model year from becoming a U.S. specification.

The U.S. page advertises a 700 W rear-hub motor, but this record does not classify that marketing figure as nominal electrical power, peak power or measured wheel output. Those are different quantities. Current torque and delivered assistance-speed values have not been established for this record, so they remain unavailable. Do not read a blank field as zero performance or an automatic disadvantage.

Does the 419 lb limit mean 419 lb of cargo?

No. The current-linked assembly guide and user manual, English page 5 (PDF page 37), defines its 419 lb / 190 kg structural maximum as including the bicycle, rider and cargo. The same table gives separate rack and pannier limits. These component limits do not add extra allowance above the structural maximum.

Manual limits are simultaneous conditions, not numbers to add together
LimitManual valueMeaning
Structural total419 lb / 190 kgBicycle, rider and cargo together
Rear rack132 lb / 60 kgIncludes panniers
Front rack44 lb / 20 kgComponent cargo limit
Pannier mounts18 lb / 8 kg per sidePer-side limit, also subject to the other applicable limits

The manual says to use the lower applicable limit when a rack or accessory has a different rating. Check that the actual accessory, attachment and intended load are permitted. Neither a structural limit nor a rack capacity establishes passenger approval. Do not infer that a child seat, foot support or other passenger equipment is suitable from this table alone.

Build a load plan from the actual bicycle and its installed equipment, the rider, passengers if explicitly permitted, and luggage. Include accessories in the total rather than treating them as weightless. Our weight-limit guide explains the difference between rider, cargo and system limits. We keep the generic payload field unavailable because it would obscure this gross-limit definition.

What do the seatpost notices establish?

The manufacturer’s notice identifies affected lower posts by 13 height-indicator markings and distinguishes posts with 15 markings. CPSC describes the recalled original equipment as 13-inch telescopic posts. Height markings and a length in inches are different descriptions; do not substitute one for an inspection following the manufacturer’s instructions.

The sources also give different sales windows: the manufacturer says 2022–2024, while CPSC reports January 2023–March 2025. Those dates are not a sufficient way to clear an individual bike. Ask the authorized retailer to establish the actual part’s applicability and, where necessary, the completed remedy. This record contains no repair history or serial-number inspection for a particular unit.

Which battery voltage and bike weight should you use?

A system or charger voltage is not automatically a battery-label value. The product page refers to a 48 V charging system; the linked manual’s technical table, English page 42, identifies an SBC-GB02 battery with 46.8 V operating voltage, 16.5 Ah and 772.2 Wh. This record does not assume that a table alone identifies the pack supplied with every currently sold configuration. Read the actual label and obtain manufacturer confirmation before selecting a replacement.

The U.S. product page lists 35.0 kg for One Size, with a qualification that weights reflect production configurations as pictured and vary. Its battery and accessory inclusion is not specified sufficiently for this record to supply a ready-to-transport mass. We do not subtract an assumed battery weight or use that listing to approve a car rack. Weigh the actual transport configuration and check the rack comparison guide and vehicle instructions.

How should you compare this bike with other records?

Use the bike browser to compare dated claims, source scope and missing values. A larger battery label alone does not establish greater range: energy consumption and usable reserve still depend on the journey and equipment. The battery-capacity calculator lets you examine your own assumptions; it does not determine whether a replacement pack fits.

Before a purchase, arrange a fitting and confirm mounting, braking, loaded handling, service access, permitted accessories and the exact supplied battery and charger with the retailer. For a used bike, obtain ownership and service evidence plus any recall documentation using the used-bike checklist. This is a sourced configuration record, not an endorsement based on hands-on testing.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 419 lb figure a cargo-only allowance?

No. The linked manual defines the structural limit as including bicycle, rider and cargo. Component limits must also be met and do not add allowance above the total.

Does this listing prove an individual bike was repaired?

No. Check the actual seatpost and recall history with an authorized Specialized retailer. If affected or unsure, stop riding and arrange the free remedy.

Can Canadian motor specifications be applied to this U.S. record?

No. The selected U.S. SKU and the Canadian 2025 SKU are separate configurations. This record does not infer one universal motor rating or model year.

Can the listed bike weight approve a transport rack?

No. Battery and accessory inclusion has not been established for a ready-to-transport mass. Weigh the actual configuration and check the rack and vehicle instructions.
